Belarusian Information Ministry working on national television content resolution

The Information Ministry is busy working on a resolution on national television content. Belarusian Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich made the relevant statement on the air of the TV channel STV, BelTA has learned.

The official noted that the renewed mass media law is sufficient for making up ones mind about what the national television product is. A number of bylaws will be developed to supplement the law.

Extended visa-free entry to Belarus to boost countrys tourism infrastructure

MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) The extension of visa-free access to Belarus will contribute to the development of the countrys tourism infrastructure, Chairman of the Council of the Belarusian Union of Tourism Industry Filipp Guly said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The decree was a long hope. It opens wide opportunities for the countrys entire infrastructure, said Filipp Guly.

Constructive dialogue between Belarusian, Russian investigation committees praised

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) The constructive dialogue and the exchange of the best practices between Belarusian and Russian investigation bodies contributes a lot to the development of work methods. The statement was made by Chairman of Belarus Investigative Committee Ivan Noskevich as he met with Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, BelTA has learned.

The meeting took place at premises of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow on 16 July.


Kupala Night Festival gathers friends along Dnieper River again

MOGILEV, 7 July (BelTA) The Kupala Night Festival in Alexandria (Alexandria Gathers Friends) will take place in the agro-town of Alexandria on the bank of the Dnieper River on 7-8 July, BelTA has learned.

The festival will be themed around the Year of Native Land.

Alexander Lukashenko will traditionally attend the event, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.


Extra-budgetary funds to be used for Belarus customs infrastructure development

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) Additional extra-budgetary funds are to be allocated for the development of customs infrastructure in Belarus. This is envisaged in Decree No. 256 signed by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The new decree introduces amendments to Decree No. 278 as of 2 June 2009 On conditions of additional financing of customs and border services.


Year of Native Land in Belarus extended onto 2018-2020

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) The Year of Native Land has been extended to include 2018-2020. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has signed the relevant decree, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The document is designed to stimulate the social and economic development of the regions, encourage active citizenship among members of the general public, and preserve the historical, cultural, and spiritual legacy.

Moscow to host Union State Council of Ministers meeting
MOSCOW, 13 June (BelTA) The Union State Council of Ministers meeting will take place in Moscow on 13 June. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, BelTA has learned.

The agenda includes 14 issues. The focus will be on trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia. The Council of Ministers will consider forecast demand and supply balance sheets on the most important food products of the Union State and the implementation of the Union State programs.

Vologda Oblast governor: Belarusian products are popular in Russia

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) Products under the Made in Belarus trademark are in demand in Russia, Governor of Russias Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.

On 5 June, Oleg Kuvshinnikov visited the international expo Belagro 2018. Belarus is a leader in the production of organic, high-quality food products, including meat, potato, dairy products and vegetables.


Plans to use full potential of regional SDG groups in Belarus

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) There are plans to use the full potential of the regional groups on reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Belarus. The statement was made by Marianna Shchetkina, Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as she met with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki on 22 May, BelTA has learned.


TIBO 2018 expo opens in Minsk

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) The TIBO 2018 expo is underway in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The exhibition is held as part of the 25th edition of the international forum on information and communication technologies TIBO 2018.

The exhibition will bring together more than 100 companies from 15 countries (Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, and Japan).
