The chairmen of district and city trade union associations visited the historical museums of Miory Secondary School No. 3 named after. Hero of the Soviet Union E.A. Tomko. Of particular interest was the exhibition about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. In the Vitebsk region, a group led by assistant prosecutor of Vitebsk Vladimir Poluyanchik is investigating criminal cases related to this fact. More than 50 previously unknown places of extermination of civilians by German occupiers have been identified in the region.

A symbolic memorial sign - a German helmet, which is pierced by a Russian bayonet, and below the inscription - “Whoever comes to us with a sword will die by the sword,” made by Vladimir Poluyanchik, became a response to those terrible events. The chairman of the regional association of trade unions, Yuri Derkach, gave this composition to the history teacher, head of the Fakel school club, Maxim Filipovich. The memorial sign will take its rightful place in the exhibition of the historical museum of the educational institution. Yuri Nikolaevich expressed gratitude for the patriotic education of youth to Maxim Yuryevich and presented him with a letter of gratitude from the regional association of trade unions. Participants of the presidium laid flowers near the memorial sign to the soldiers-liberators from the Nazi invaders. Together with the management of Mior, we got acquainted with the changes that have recently affected the regional center. We visited the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The meeting of the presidium took place at the premises of Metal Rolling Company LLC. Yuri Derkach, chairmen of district and city trade union associations got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise - the largest manufacturer of tinplate in the CIS countries. More than 750 people work here - professionals in their field. The use of modern energy-saving, environmentally friendly equipment and innovative technologies allows us to produce highly liquid, high-quality products at minimal cost within a specified time frame. Products are supplied both to the domestic market and outside our country. The presidium discussed the issue of measures to strengthen public safety and discipline at enterprises. A metal rolling company is a clear example of interaction between an employer and a primary organization within the framework of the implementation of Directive No. 1 of the President of our country. A health and safety management system for professional activities has been introduced here in accordance with STB ISO 45001-2020. Creating healthy and safe working conditions is also the task of public inspectors of the enterprise. The provision of personal protective equipment for workers is 100 percent. This year alone, more than 22 thousand rubles were spent on labor protection measures, and more than 185 thousand rubles were spent on the purchase of personal protective equipment. Last year, 35 managers and specialists and 264 workers completed occupational safety training.

“Trade unions, together with the executive branch, enterprises and organizations of the region, direct their efforts towards a common cause - fulfilling the established socio-economic indicators, improving the quality of life of workers,” noted Yuriy Derkach. – Today, trade union organizations have been created in all government institutions of the Vitebsk region. Every year, about 250 primary organizations are formed in privately owned enterprises. Because everyone benefits from social partnership.

For active work to protect the labor, socio-economic rights and interests of trade union members, Yuriy Derkach presented the Certificate of Honor of the regional association of trade unions to the Deputy General Director-Chief Engineer of the Metal Rolling Company Sergei Priymenko. Well-deserved awards for their work were received by the chairmen of the Orsha district trade union association Oksana Pustoshilo and the regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Energy, Gas and Fuel Industry Gennady Titenko. Deputy Chairman of the Miory District Executive Committee Andrei Puysha presented diplomas to the winners of the competition for the best organization of labor protection work among manufacturing enterprises in the region.

The presidium approved a plan of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The participation of trade unions in the regional festival-fair of rural workers “Dazhynki - 2024” was discussed.
