Alexander Subbotin: “More than 80 million rubles will be spent on the reconstruction of the Vitebsk concert hall”

 More than 80 million rubles will be spent on the reconstruction of the Vitebsk concert hall alone. This figure was announced by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, at the regional headquarters for preparing facilities for the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in the Vitebsk region.

The headquarters, which includes the head of the region, chairman of the regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Gennady Sabynich and other senior officials of the regional and city executive committees, once again inspected the progress of work. Such meetings are held weekly, and more often if necessary.

One of the large facilities is the Vitebsk Conservatory. Every day, 270 people from the general contracting organization Stroytrest No. 9 and four more subcontractors work here. General Director of Construction Trust No. 9 Andrey Golubev did not fail to note that it is extremely difficult to carry out reconstruction at such sites. We have to quickly make changes and adjust the project and immediately carry out construction. Funding is regular, there is enough strength, work is carried out in two shifts with an extended schedule. There were questions regarding the supply of some building materials, such as granite and marble tiles, but they have now been removed. Construction materials arrive on time. The general director assured that by April 15, a round hall, a round hall foyer, a cloakroom, and an administrative building on the third floor will be ready at the facility.

Work will then shift to the central foyer, café and administrative offices on the first and second floors. These works are scheduled to be completed by May 31.

“The project needs to be delivered on time, there are no other options,” summed up Alexander Subbotin. – The task is this: to do everything efficiently and meet the deadlines. We know how to work well when we need to do everything quickly and efficiently. Monitoring at sites is necessary because during the work, additional difficulties are identified that force the scope of planned work to be expanded. This happened at the amphitheater, where we are going to update the lighting; at the underground passage to the “blue house” we will not limit ourselves to just re-installing the insulation, since after removing the top layer everything began to crumble, we want to put into operation the premises near the passage. We need to do everything beautifully and reliably so that in a couple of years we don’t have to return to the site again.

The head of the region did not fail to emphasize that today’s “construction bustle” indicates that the city is developing and becoming more beautiful. Here, Alexander Subbotin completely coincides with Gennady Sabynich’s points of view on the ongoing processes. Even when the forum takes place, this momentum, according to the governor, should not be lost.
