Cigarettes were exchanged for sweets: in Vitebsk, emergency workers helped residents to take a fresh look at the problem of smoking

"Don't waste your life." As part of the republican campaign under this name, employees of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations helped visitors to the Vitebsk railway station, as well as residents of several city dormitories, to look at the problem of smoking in a new way.

Everyone has heard the phrase: "Smoking kills!". Rescuers will confirm this fact from their professional experience. This bad habit is the most common cause of fires that take people's lives. EMERCOM workers pay great attention to this topic every year, hold actions in all districts of the region.

In the northern capital, as part of the program, rescuers not only traditionally exchanged cigarettes for sweets, but also organized thematic locations where they could gain new knowledge on safety, learn about the causes of fires that occurred in the region, using specific examples.

Interestingly, during the event it was possible to determine how the addiction has spread among Vitebsk residents. The participants of the action were interested in whether they smoke, there were fewer affirmative answers (which is good news). Nevertheless, surrounded by people, there is at least one friend who likes to smoke.

The information and propaganda campaign of the Ministry of Emergency Situations "Don't burn your life!" will last until November 27. At this time, rescuers will look into dormitories, hold interactive events in higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, as well as at train stations and shopping malls in the region.
