Despite the disability. Oleg and Victoria Smirnov from the Town told how they built a strong family

The Smirnov couple from the Town do not consider themselves unusual. They are just a young family with a daughter growing up. Now they are perceived in this way by the majority of residents of the district center. And once their marriage, and even more so the birth of a child, became a sensation, because the husband and wife have a serious degree of disability. Oleg has cerebral palsy, he moves in a wheelchair, Victoria has a disease of the musculoskeletal system, but she is quite mobile. At the same time, there are no intellectual development disorders in both.

The Smirnovs proudly announce that their Olenka, who will soon be one and a half years old, is a perfectly healthy girl in all respects. Their lucky chance demonstrates that parents with serious physical problems can have healthy children.

– We decided that we have the right to love and be a real family, – says Vika for both of them. – Despite the fact that we look different from most people and look helpless, we are strong inside. We can experience the whole gamut of feelings. Our life was filled with a new huge meaning, responsibility and joy when Olya was born.

...Once Oleg brought his young wife, whom he met while in rehabilitation, to his house. More precisely, to a rented apartment in a new building, where he lived with his mother Tatiana. This strong woman supported and strengthened the marital union. She shared the secrets of farming with the orphan Vika. The diligent student has learned everything: she is always in order, lunch is cooked, the child is well-groomed. But her mother-in-law, who wisely moved out of the young people into her own house, constantly turns to her for advice. In her person, she found a mother and a best friend.

– I am not at all burdened with helping children, – Tatiana admits. – I take Olya to visit with pleasure. She's so smart, affectionate. Babbles in his childish language. He loves all of us, my cat, and also to draw. We dote on her.

The Smirnovs are convinced that the state has provided great support on the way to their happiness. Free stay in the department of rehabilitation, habilitation of the disabled in the social boarding house "On Dvina", where Vika and Oleg met. Well-maintained social housing. Free medical supervision of pregnancy. Individual management of childbirth in the RNPC "Mother and child". Providing a free babysitting service from the TCSON.After all, now a unique family lives on a disability pension and an allowance for a family raising a child. Let it be modest, but this is a constant stable income, which the Smirnovs can always count on.

The history of this family is life-affirming. Everyday life, illnesses, financial difficulties and other problems can be overcome if relatives are together and moving forward. Even if in a wheelchair.
