“Evening of meetings” of “graduates” of the regional maternity hospital was held in Vitebsk

The Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital was crowded today. Dozens of families whose babies were born within these walls met here. The event on the eve of Family Day was initiated by Vitebsk rescuers. They were also joined by traffic police officers and representatives of the city administration.

“We want to convey basic safety measures to citizens through such warm emotions and vivid impressions,” emphasized Vitaly Volzhenkov, head of the city emergency department.

The event is being held for the third year in a row. There are no such “alumni meetings” anywhere in Belarus except Vitebsk, so the event is unique.

The program has been prepared in a rich way. In addition to a lot of congratulatory words and creative performances, special attention was paid to interactive areas, where children were helped to master the basics of safety in a playful way.

The deputy head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, head of the department of ideological work, youth affairs, religions and nationalities, Vyacheslav Khrol, addressed the institution with pleasant words. In addition to the fact that he himself is a “graduate” of this maternity hospital, his son was born here six months ago.

The “graduates” gathered from young to old. As it turned out, one of them is the chairman of the Vitebsk regional committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers, Vladimir Plytkevich.

- I gladly joined the event, especially since my brother and I are also “graduates” of this maternity hospital. I would like to wish you success so that there are as many children as possible in our country.

In addition to the already grown-up heroes of the event, many young mothers with babies gathered at the site. One of them is Anastasia Gonchar from Vitebsk. The girl gave birth to a son, David, on February 27.

“We still have 2.5 months, but even for parents the program here is quite interesting and varied,” the girl noted.

“BB” REFERENCE: The event was held as part of the republican campaign “Don’t leave children alone,” the goal of which is to draw attention to the problem of children dying in fires and reduce the number of emergencies involving the younger generation.
