From electrical supply to landscaping. What problems do elders help solve?

An elder is usually chosen by an active and proactive person, who is trusted and with whom they pin their hopes on solving public and personal problems. According to these criteria, residents of the Dunilovichi agro-town of the Postavsky district five years ago chose Inna Rusetskaya, head of the local House of Culture (pictured), to become their representative in the village Council of Deputies.

Inna Rusetskaya is a mother of many children who raised five children with her husband. Three of them, having received their education, settled in St. Petersburg and Minsk. The two younger sons are students. One is studying at the Academy of Communications, the other entered Polotsk State University this year. The family is hardworking. They keep a cow and other livestock on the farmstead, and grow vegetables. In addition, the Rusetsky house belongs to the exemplary ones, as indicated by a plaque on the wall of the building. They look up to this family in the village, adopt its way of life. And we are also grateful to Inna for actively taking care of improving the quality of people's lives together with the village executive committee.

As an example, the following statistics were given in Dunilovichi: 3.7 km of power lines were reconstructed in the village last year, which allowed many people to make their homes comfortable using energy for heating houses and heating water. Natural gas was supplied to the agro-town, which also improved the living conditions of the villagers. A lot has been done on landscaping: Maxim Gorky Street has been renovated, new asphalt has been laid on Shkolnaya Street, paving slabs in the center. This year, Yanka Kupala and Priozernaya streets have been sprinkled and graded, street lighting will be replaced on them. During the clean-up days, organized by the elder, the square near the House of Culture was landscaped, order was restored along Alexander Bulbyanova Street, flowers were planted near the monument to countrymen who died during the war, the area around the former household goods store was cleared of debris. Cemeteries have been improved this year, as well as the burial of war victims in the village of Altsy.

Residents of the agro-town turn to the elder on various issues. There was a problem with the electrical supply — to her, the mail mode is not satisfied — back to the elder. They ask for help when a neighbor has grown weeds, and their seeds litter the surrounding areas.

Inna never shrugs off people's requests. He solves some issues on the spot, convincing negligent owners to keep order on their estates, informs the village executive committee and district services about others. And thus she is a link between the villagers and local authorities, for her work she was recognized as the best elder of the district last year.

– You can count on her in any situation, – Chairman of the Dunilovichi village Council of Deputies Taisa Batory says about the elder. – She knows how to convince and organize fellow villagers, helps them solve problems that arise. And they respond to her with respect and trust, taking an example of how to keep order near their own home.

– When I was elected an elder at a meeting five years ago, I was not happy, – admits Inna. – The village is large, more than 250 yards, people live in different ways, you need to find a common language with everyone, which can be difficult. But at the same time, I understand that I have been given a lot of trust, which must be justified.
