How educational tourism is being developed in Braslav district

The state educational tourism program has been operating in the country since 2021. The Lake District has developed and implemented its own program adapted to local conditions. It includes 35 educational excursions and open lessons with visits to the memorable places of the district.

– Excursions are a visual continuation of lessons that enrich students with knowledge about their native land and foster love for it, – says Irina Ugorenko, a methodologist at the Braslav district educational and Methodical office. – So, trips to the ancient settlements of the Finns, Balts and Slavs with a visit to the temple of Yarila are combined with lessons in the Belarusian language. When studying biology, the "Anthropogenic Landscapes" route, which runs along an ecological trail, will be useful. Knowledge of geography can be replenished by visiting the route "In the footsteps of the Lake glaciation", in a virtual tour of the enterprises of the Braslav region.

Weekend family tours "Living and relaxing together" are gaining popularity. You can choose an entertainment orientation, for example, the safari park NP "Braslav Lakes". Braslav teachers consider school museums and museum rooms to be an important part of educational tourism, of which there are two and five in the district, respectively. All the exhibits are connected with their local area, which makes them distinctive. A museum of internationalist soldiers has been created in Braslav Secondary School No. 1. The museum of the Druya school belongs to the historical and local lore. By the way, this winter an exhibition from his funds was held at the regional museum of local lore. In total, the exposition has more than 800 exhibits, which are combined into 22 sections telling about the history of Druya from ancient times to the present day. The museum has a section of cosmonautics, because the roots of cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev are in the Braslav region.

– Now we are actively implementing the educational route "#School of Life", – explains the specialist. – It includes three directions: "We invite you to the Ops" (tourists have the opportunity to collect cucumbers and tomatoes at the school site, prepare blanks from them for the winter and take them with them); "Slabodkaysky gastsinets" (includes a master class on cooking charlotte with its subsequent tasting); "On bicycles along the Other" (various excursions).

In 2022, the travel guide "Travel by yourself. Travel with us!" It is posted on the website of the district executive committee in the section "Tourism" and was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree at the exhibition-competition of materials on youth education "The future begins today".
