In the Vitebsk region, 96 individual entrepreneurs have become a legal entity to continue their activities. Such data as of December 30 is provided by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus.
In total, more than 1.2 thousand individual entrepreneurs in the country have transformed their status in a seamless mode, of which almost 40 percent are registered in the capital and the Minsk region. In terms of types of economic activity, the most popular in the context of the transformation of IP were retail trade in various groups of goods, road transportation, wholesale trade, real estate rental, education and catering.
A seamless transition provides an opportunity for an individual entrepreneur to change his status to a legal entity on the same day, while retaining all rights and obligations. This minimizes risks and ensures business continuity.
As of July 2024, about 22 thousand individual entrepreneurs operated in the Vitebsk region.
Recall that from October 1, 2024, changes have been introduced in Belarus that simplify the transition of individual entrepreneurs to a commercial organization. This is due to the entry into force of the provisions of Law No 365-Z "On Amendments to Laws on Entrepreneurial Activity", which determine the grounds for citizens to carry out individual entrepreneurial activities without forming a legal entity.
Thus, from October 1, a citizen as an individual entrepreneur has the right to carry out activities according to the list established by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No457 "On Types of Individual Entrepreneurial Activity".
From the same date, the state registration of individual entrepreneurs with a type of economic activity not included in the list approved by the Government will not be carried out. At the same time, individuals registered as individual entrepreneurs before October 1, 2024 have the right to continue to engage in activities not included in the list until December 31, 2025.
