It was not easy to gain authority: How young specialists work in Vitebsk housing and communal services

Why do girls go to work in housing and communal services? And how is the disease of "American women" treated?

This year, the Housing and Communal Services Department of Vitebsk hired three young specialists - masters of intra—house networks - to work in housing and maintenance sites. The girls graduated from the Lepel Agricultural and Technical College. The correspondent of "BB" learned how the "ladies of the water" live and work at their first workplace.

Contrary to expectations, I was greeted by smiling, elegant girls. They say that going to work is like going on a holiday, but they always have their "basement" equipment with them. Anastasia Moiseenko works in ZHEU-5, in her department there are Engels, Titov, Komsomolskaya and Lokomotivnaya streets. Anastasia Yasko got into the Housing Department-16 and partially serves the DSK area: Energetikov Street, Zolotogorskaya, 39th Army. Daria Prefix – master of ZHEU-19, could not come to the meeting, eliminated the accident in the area of the Southern market.

The housing fund for young specialists is not new, it has its own characteristics. Many houses require major repairs and increased attention, but this does not frighten girls.

– This year we received the specialty "water supply and sanitation. Protection of water resources". Also, each of us has the 4th category of chemist-laboratory assistant for bacteriological analysis. It was interesting to study, especially the production and technological practice was remembered," says Anastasia Moiseenko. – In college, we studied mainly sewage treatment plants, and we delved into the functioning of intra-house networks already at the workplace.

The Lepelchanka women got to the regional center by distribution. We checked into the hostel and immediately went to work. It was not easy to explore the new area, but in a month the newly minted employees completely got used to it.

The master must direct the work of plumbers in the assigned area. It was not easy to gain authority: the subordinates turned out to be much older than 19-year-old girls.

However, mutual understanding was reached and joint work was established. Young specialists answer office calls at any time and never leave plumbers alone with complex applications.

– To earn respect, I had to put aside indecision and show my character to my subordinates, – Anastasia Yasko shares. – The approach to work in housing and communal services should be responsible.

Communication with the residents of the neighborhood is the most important area of work. Young masters try to explain each situation honestly and intelligibly to applicants and most often meet with understanding. According to the interviewees, people not only complain, but also provide quite tangible assistance in troubleshooting.

– One caring man went down to the basement and began to actively help the plumbers, – says Anastasia Moiseenko. – As a result, his ingenuity helped us to solve the problem that he addressed faster.

When asked what kind of problem the residents and communal services eliminated together, the girl answers with a smile: "They treated the disease of "American women" – detachable elements for threaded connections that cannot be rotated."

– During the shutdown of the hot water in the "American", the elastic band may tighten and leak, – the interlocutor explains. – When eliminating such a breakdown, you need to act carefully and harmoniously.

According to the masters, the coordination of workers and residents is especially important in an emergency situation. When a strong leak forms in the apartment and water literally gushes out of it, there are no indifferent people: people offer help and clearly follow the instructions of the communal services.

– The main task of the master at this moment is to properly distribute the work of subordinates, – Anastasia Yasko notes. – One plumber should be sent immediately to shut off the water in the basement, the other in the apartment. And only then eliminate the cause of the accident, eliminate the consequences. Then it is equally important to correctly draw up the act of filling, which is necessary for compensation of damage.

Girls work on an equal basis with men and are not afraid to get dirty. They assure that representatives of the fair sex work in housing and communal services no less productively than the strong one. An example of this is their mentors: Alyona Yablokova, a leading engineer of ZHEU–5, and Anastasia Butyanova, a master of ZHEU-16.

The lepelchanka's salary is satisfied: it is enough for food, hobbies, and new outfits. The girls live in the same dormitory block, help each other at work and at home, walk around Vitebsk in their free time and make plans for the future. They do not plan to leave their housing units after the distribution.

When asked what Vitebsk communal services are missing, the masters unanimously answer: "Hands!" In each housing department there are vacancies for plumbers and welders, without which defective sections of pipes cannot be replaced.
