On the agenda "Volunteer squads"

Taking care of the safety of citizens is one of the most important duties of the state.

In the Soviet Union, the state shared this honorable duty with the citizens themselves. Ideological education, the party program and the general spirit of building a bright communist future brought up in the Soviet people responsibility not only for themselves, but also for the country as a whole.

Perhaps few people know, but even in our time at enterprises there are headquarters of volunteer squads, which provide assistance to police officers, taking up duty together with district police inspectors, policemen of the PPSM company, as well as traffic police officers go on patrol routes.

On October 23, a meeting of the headquarters of volunteer squads of the city's enterprises was held in the Polotsk District Executive Committee. The main issue on the agenda of the meeting is the effectiveness of the participation of vigilantes in the protection of law and order and public safety.

The event was opened by Svetlana Mikhailovna Valyushkina, Deputy Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, who noted the importance of voluntary squads. After all, they provide an opportunity to visit specific life situations together with law enforcement officers and see how problems are solved in the legal field. The interest of citizens in the activities of the police is traditionally high, and the work of the vigilante is a real opportunity to get a complete picture of it.

The chief specialist in the protection of state secrets, mobilization work and defense issues of the Polotsk RIC - Nikolai Sergeevich Rybakov spoke to the sergeant majors of the squads. Nikolay Sergeevich told those present about how to properly maintain documentation, about the envisaged measures to encourage members of voluntary squads. He indicated that according to employment contracts, it is practiced to add additional days to vacation, time off, and sometimes material remuneration.

The meeting was attended by the senior inspector of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Police Major Konstantin Nikolaevich Karpinsky. Konstantin Nikolaevich told who can join voluntary squads, these are only adult citizens who, according to their business and moral qualities, health status, can perform tasks to assist in the protection of public order. He also thanked all those present for their active work in this direction.

A vigilante will not be able to become a vigilante who has a criminal record, is registered in medical and preventive organizations for mental illness, drug addiction or alcoholism, is recognized as incapable or limited in capacity, and has been brought to administrative responsibility within a year before the day of filing an application to join the vigilante.

At the end of the event, the most active members of the brigades were awarded with gratitude from the head of the Polotsk District Department of Internal Affairs.
