Plus one hectare. Vitebsk region joined the republican action "Give the forest a new life"

The leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee planted about 7000 thousand pine seedlings in the Liozno district.

- Traditionally, we are used to planting forests in the spring. This year, our President set the tone for the autumn campaign. One of the reasons is the hurricane that overtook us in the summer. Then the epicenter of windfalls and windbreaks was the Gomel region. More than a hundred hectares of forest were felled in our region. The disaster stimulated us to pay even closer attention to the renewal of the forest, - said the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin.

The head of the region noted that although the area of the restored forest is small - one hectare, thousands of trees were planted on it, they will delight future generations.

"It's nice that even no one has to offer to participate in the action, people themselves are happy to go to the forest to plant trees. Such events allow the team to change the environment, work together, communicate and get closer - to become even more monolithic, - Alexander Subbotin emphasized.

Yuri Lipsky, General Director of the Vitebsk State Forestry and Forestry Committee, said that the employees of the regional executive committee worked productively:

"These are experienced people who know how to properly establish forest crops. Before the start of the campaign, we showed the results of reforestation last year and the year before last. These include the areas where the employees of the regional executive committee worked.

Recall that since October 12, the republican voluntary campaign "Give the forest a new life" has been taking place in the country. It was launched personally by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a working trip to his small homeland in the Shklov district. The action is aimed at restoring forest areas affected by the hurricane.
