Practice and salary: How do students of the Orsha Agricultural College earn during their studies

Egor Solovyov, a student of the Orsha State Agrarian College, decided that his life's work would be working with agricultural machinery.

The guy is studying in the specialty "operation and repair of agricultural machinery". By the end of college, he will be able to work on wheeled tractors, energy-saturated, grain and forage harvesters, and will also receive the qualifications of a category C driver and a locksmith.

Egor says that upon graduation he will have in-demand and highly paid professions, as well as a reserved first job. The young man studies in the target direction from JSC "Agrokombinat Yubileyny" of the Orsha district and receives a monthly scholarship in the amount of 240 rubles from one of the best agricultural enterprises in the Vitebsk region.

According to Tamara Damarad, Deputy Director for educational and production work, recently there has been an increase in the recruitment of target workers in the specialties "operation and repair of agricultural machinery" and "technical operation of road construction machinery and equipment", the latter gives the profession of an excavator driver, loader driver, repair mechanic. Farms and enterprises are interested in training a personnel reserve and are ready to pay scholarships to students on condition of working out a certain period. For example, this academic year, out of 76 people enrolled in two specialties, 49 students are target students.

In general, children come to the village of Vysokoe to receive demanded specialties not only from the nearest regions, but also from Vitebsk, Gorki and Bykhov, Mogilev region, Gomel and Zhlobin.

The guys hone their theoretical skills at the college's tractor plant, which occupies an area of 5 hectares, and in an educational farm with an area of 420 hectares. They have 16 cars, 32 units of tractors, loaders and other equipment at their disposal.

Third-year students receive temporary rights to practice directly at farms. According to Sergey Chaplyuk, Deputy Director for industrial Training, students earned 95 thousand rubles last academic year. The college transfers three quarters of the salary to the guys, leaving the rest for the development of the material and technical base. One of the students set a record for the educational institution: in JSC Gorkilen, he carried out pre-sowing soil preparation, seed delivery and earned 4.8 thousand rubles in two months of practice.
