Residents of the Postavsky district found a calf
In the early morning of May, Oleg Honyavko and his wife Nina found a calf on the outskirts of the village of Pozharts of the Postavsky district.The animal got soaked in the night rain and could no longer walk. After looking around and making sure that the mother of the foundling was not nearby, people turned to the Poltava regional Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.Ecologists together with the veterinarian went to the place. A visual examination showed that the calf is 7-9 days old, there are no visible injuries, there is slight exhaustion. The baby needed special care and feeding, he was given sweetened boiled water and taken out to warm up in the sun. Ecologists have taken prompt measures to determine the future fate of the animal.
The Kestrel Bird and Animal Care Center, located in the village of Losi in the Molodechno district of the Minsk region, immediately responded. The organization, unique for Belarus, helps injured and weakened animals from the wild – treats, rehabilitates and returns them to their natural habitat. By lunchtime, the center's volunteers arrived, who took the calf to an environmental institution, where the foundling received the necessary assistance.
