Sergey Navitsky: "Looking at the threats of our opponents, we must take into account all the risks in order to prevent an armed conflict"

Chairman of the Osveysky village Council of Verkhnedvinsky district Sergey Navitsky:

– Our urban village of Osveya is located on the border with Russia and Latvia, a large number of tourists come to us every year in the summer, and with the introduction of a temporary visa-free regime, the population of our region has increased one and a half times. We welcome everyone and pay special attention to security issues. Tremendous work in this direction is carried out by our border guards, who meet with labor collectives, visit households, inform people about the need to be vigilant, report suspicious individuals.

Looking at the threats of opponents and attempts to undermine our country, we must be prepared for everything and take into account all risks in order to prevent an armed conflict. We, the Russians, know more than anyone else what war is, because in our land during the Great Patriotic War, the occupiers committed massive and brutal crimes. So, during the punitive anti-partisan operation "Winter Magic", every second resident died. I am sure our people will never allow a repeat of the tragedy.
