The “Culinary Duel” competition brought together talented women from the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk

On the eve of Women's Day, six representatives of the fair sex took part in the “Culinary Duel” competition, their skills were assessed by a professional jury.

The age of the participants is from 60 to 72 years, all of them attend the day care department for elderly citizens of the territorial center for social services for the population of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk. According to the head of the department, Anna Sukharkova, there could have been more contestants, but many were embarrassed to show their talents in public, so the bravest ones responded. Rimma Timofeeva baked a cake, Lydia Kukut - shortbread cookies, Tatyana Mileshkina prepared profiteroles with salad, Galina Tsvetkova, Vera Kuchinskaya and Lyubov Galushkevich - pies, respectively, with fruit, glaze and jam.

The competition took place at the Culinary School of the Robovita training center, which provided the participants with equipment, tools and ingredients for the face-to-face part of the competition. Each of the women had to prepare the “Chicken in a Parchment Boat” dish; they were given the same amount of poultry, assorted vegetables, cheese, mayonnaise, salt and spices to taste. The jury assessed the observance of proper order in the workplace, the technology and speed of preparation, the appearance and smell of the dish.

As Olga Zemlyakova, the director and author of the Culinary School project, noted, the competition participants impressed with their skills, but most importantly, the experts talked to interesting people.

All participants received gifts. Following the results of two stages of the competition, the top three winners included Rimma Timofeeva, Tatyana Mileshkina and Lidiya Kukut.
