The republican campaign "Christmas Tree of Wishes", initiated by the Belarusian Red Cross, continues. Thanks to the indifference and participation of residents of the Vitebsk region, 650 gifts for children have already been collected. As the chairman of the regional organization of the Red Cross Galina Zhelanova informed, the first batch of hygiene products - 150 packs of diapers - was handed over to the specialized Children's Home.
The chairman of the regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov and his assistant Nikolai Romanovsky took a personal part in the action. Having taken several photos of the wards of the Children's Home from the "Wishing Tree" with requests on the back, they helped to make them come true. So, a boy named Semyon will receive a coveted battery-powered musical toy as a gift, Maxim will receive a children's drum, Mikhail will receive beautiful sandals and a set of socks in addition to them...
In addition, the Children's Home received several packages of diapers, which are especially needed in the institution, taking into account the age and health of the kids. The head physician Elena Mizerkina informed that they have sufficient funding from the budget, but the consumption of diapers is large - from 5 to 7 pieces per child per day, and most of the 80 pupils need them.
"It's great that such an action as the "Wishing Tree" is being held, and there are caring people, volunteers who help to reach hearts, Dmitry Demidov emphasized. "All children are waiting for a miracle on New Year's Eve, including those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, and if there is an opportunity to make their dreams come true, it should be done.
