The teaching staff of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine was introduced to the new rector Olga Gorlova.
Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin stressed that the new rector faces a whole palette of tasks to bring the university to a new orbit. This includes the return of the prestige of the profession, practice-oriented training, career guidance, and the export of educational and scientific services. In just a month, the VGAVM will cross the 100-year mark, which should be celebrated accordingly.
Alexander Subbotin wished Olga Gorlova wisdom in decision-making and promised all kinds of support.
The new rector will also be assisted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, which is subordinate to the university. The head of the department, Anatoly Linevich, stressed that there is only one veterinary academy in Belarus and it is necessary to do everything so that applicants strive here. Students also need to instill love for their country so that their first job is in their homeland.
Candidate of Veterinary Sciences Olga Gorlova is a graduate of the All-Russian State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, she worked for two years as a veterinarian on the farm. Then her supervisor Anton Yatusevich, at that time the rector, invited the graduate to teach.
