What is going to surprise the residents and guests of Vitebsk with the summer festival, which will be held in the city on the Dvina on Kupala — July 6 and 7.
Kupala-Fest is the name of the new project of the regional Philharmonic. As the organizers explained, its purpose is to attract a youth audience to the Philharmonic hall.
– We analyzed the age composition of our viewers and realized that young people fall out of it a little. Therefore, we decided to come up with a creative project that would take into account the tastes of this category. The idea was born to hold a festival and give young talents the opportunity to prove themselves," said Anna Olekhnovich, Deputy Director of the Philharmonic.
The initiative was supported by the city authorities, other cultural institutions, and youth groups who acted as volunteers to promote the project.
Kupala-Fest is based on a song contest of the same name. Everyone who wants to share their creativity and find listeners was invited to participate in it.
The conditions are not strict: sing two folk or patriotic songs, preferably in the original arrangement. A successful performance is a pass to the final concert, which will take place
in the courtyard of the Philharmonic.
– In addition to the creative competition, there will be a lot of interesting things, – explained Vladimir Babariko, artistic director of the Philharmonic. – We have tried to prepare a program taking into account different interests. For children – "Porridge from an axe" is a musical fairy tale performed by philharmonic artists. The Belarusian theater "Lyalka" will show its performances. The magician Oleg Bulavin, who will come from Minsk, will entertain children and adults. And from St. Petersburg we are waiting for the talented musician Anton Filatov, who has worked with many famous performers – Larisa Dolina, Igor Nikolaev, Elena Vaenga and others. He will conduct drum workshops.
Those who wish will be able to visit the "Rabbit Manor", watch snail races, try fried ice cream and other goodies on the food courts, play giant chess and sports games. In the evening part of the program, which will end at 24 o'clock, the renowned Talaka ensemble and well-known performers and groups among the youth, in particular the cover band Natalia Lavrentievna, iPastor, will perform.
