Belarus and India are starting a dialogue on visa facilitation. This issue was on the agenda of the talks between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministers gave consideration to inter-regional and parliamentary ties, took stock of the legal framework and humanitarian cooperation, including the training of Indian students in Belarus.
"An agreement was reached to start a dialogue on further visa facilitation in order to increase mutual tourist flows. Sergei Aleinik expressed gratitude to his counterpart for his consistent support for Belarus' accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and for his principled positive position on our country's accession to BRICS," the press service said.
The diplomats discussed cooperation between the EAEU and India and also within the framework of other multilateral organizations. They discussed the regional situation, global and food security, current crisis in international relations and the global economy. The ministers reaffirmed their positions on fundamental aspects of world politics, including the need to build a more just and sustainable world order based on multipolarity and sovereign equality of states, a balance of interests and respect for international law.
The Belarusian delegation also held talks with Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi. The main topics were food security, the supply of Belarusian engineering goods, cooperation in pharmaceuticals and the chemical industry. The parties reached a number of agreements to be worked out further within the framework of sectoral cooperation and meetings between business and relevant associations of the two countries.
