Belarus is ready to cooperate with Gansu Province in establishing joint production facilities, Belarus' Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said during a meeting with Lanzhou's Party Committee Secretary of Gansu Province of China Zhang Xiaoqiang on 21 October, BelTA learned from the Belarus' Economy Ministry.
According to Alesya Abramenko, cooperation between Belarus and Gansu Province and the city of Lanzhou can become exemplary within the framework of building up comprehensive interregional cooperation between Belarus and China.
In 2024, Belarus plans to significantly increase exports of food products, timber and light industry goods to China and continue strengthening interregional ties. Belarus is willing to cooperate with Gansu Province in establishing joint enterprises in such sectors as agriculture, electric transport, vehicle components, and medical equipment.
"Transmissions, engines, mobile cranes, passenger cars, supercapacitors for electric buses – this is only a short list of goods already produced in Belarus with the participation of Chinese partners. These products effectively complement our industrial potential. Currently, a number of Chinese companies' developments are being introduced and tested. A lot of projects are in the pipeline," Alesya Abramenko said.
She pointed out that the most favorable conditions and the necessary engineering and transportation infrastructure for such initiatives have been created in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. As of today, it has 136 resident companies with $1.5 billion in investments. They plan to create over 15,000 jobs.
"We are interested in new high technologies of the companies of Lanzhou City and Gansu Province, joint investment projects and initiatives, which will contribute to the mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries," the deputy minister emphasized.
