Belarus urges UN Human Rights Council members to vote against political manipulations
Member states of the United Nations Human Rights Council should vote against political manipulations. Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Larisa Belskaya made the statement at the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council on 4 April, BelTA has learned.
Larisa Belskaya said: “My country is open to a constructive dialogue on human rights on the basis of universally acknowledged principles and norms of international law. Belarus resolutely adheres to international cooperation on the basis of respect for the sovereignty of states, cultural and civilization versatility of nations, their right to determine their way of development on their own.”
“I thank all the states that support Belarus and encourage members of the UN Human Rights Council to vote against political manipulations of the draft resolution’s authors,” the diplomat concluded.
