The winners of the world competition "Bridge of the Chinese Language" were awarded at MSLU

Minsk State Linguistic University has awarded the winners of the global competition "Bridge of the Chinese Language", BelTA has learned.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong and Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay. "Chinese Language Bridge" is a large-scale international competition known as the International Chinese Language Olympiad. This platform provides participants with the opportunity not only to demonstrate their Chinese language skills, but also to learn from each other and improve their language proficiency. Every year the competition gathers more and more of the best of the best in learning Chinese, the number of its participants is constantly growing. First, it is due to the attractiveness of the Chinese language and culture, as well as the constant expansion of China's cooperation with the outside world. Therefore, the world competition of the Chinese language is the embodiment of an international, global boom in its learning. In this boom, I want to note the large presence of Belarusian participants. With the deepening of political mutual trust and the constant expansion of cooperation between our countries in various fields, the demand for qualified specialists who both know the Chinese language and understand Chinese culture is growing day by day," Xie Xiaoyong said.

Alexander Kadlubay stated that the contestants demonstrated excellent knowledge of the Chinese language during the qualifying rounds. "This is one of the confirmations of the high level of development of trusting and truly partnership relations between our states in the field of education. Within the framework of cooperation in this area, we attach great importance to the popularization, support and expansion of opportunities for learning the Chinese language. To this end, a wide range of measures has been implemented for almost 20 years to meet the needs of Belarus for specialists who are able to use the Chinese language in their professional activities. We managed to achieve significant success in this direction thanks to the implementation of the strategy for the development of the Chinese language teaching system for 2017-2022 developed by the Ministry of Education of Belarus. At the moment, a program until 2030 is being developed," the deputy minister informed.

The qualifying rounds were organized by the Education Department of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Belarus with the support of the XXIII World Chinese Language Competition "Bridge of the Chinese Language" among students - the Confucius Institute at MSLU, the XVII World Competition "Bridge of the Chinese Language" among middle and high school students of general secondary education - the Confucius Institute at the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, as well as the IV World Competition The "Bridge of the Chinese Language" among primary school students of general secondary education institutions of Belarus is the Confucius Republican Institute of Chinese Studies of the Belarusian State University and the gymnasium with the Belarusian language of instruction No23 in Minsk.

Awards were received by the winners of the competition, who took 1st place, and the laureates of the competition, who took 2nd and 3rd places. Diplomas "For Outstanding Achievements" and in the nomination "Outstanding Mentor" were also awarded.
