A civil-patriotic event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders took place in Vitebsk

An exhibition of weapons and military equipment, demonstration performances, the work of a military-patriotic club - a civil-patriotic event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders was held in Vitebsk, on the basis of military unit 5524.

– The Belarusian Trade Union of Government Employees continues active cooperation with the command of part of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular in the organization of civil patriotic events. Six months ago, a meeting was held between the chairmen of industry trade unions and the commanders of brigades in which patriotic classes function. Thus, a decision was made to provide trade union assistance to the command of the internal troops, as well as in the implementation of joint projects and events. One of these is the action dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders,” noted Sergei Potapenko, chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of State and Other Institution Workers.

The venue for the event was military unit 5524. At thematic locations, the command demonstrated to the chairmen of district (city) trade union organizations, members of the Youth Council, and industry veterans the life of military personnel, logistics support, equipment used by personnel during daily service, and much more.

The military-patriotic club “Vityaz”, which is attended by students from 27 educational institutions in the regional center, presented its work. Vitebsk resident Arseniy Dubrovsky has been a member of the military-patriotic club for a year now and believes that it is very important to instill basic values ​​in the younger generation, to strengthen them physically, and to appreciate the traditions of the people.

“We are learning the skills of military service, we are conducting events on ideological work, studying the drill regulations, and also improving ourselves in physical training classes. This developed in me strong masculine qualities, endurance and fortitude. In addition, “Vityaz” provides an opportunity to subsequently enter a military academy,” noted Arseny Dubrovsky.

Guests were also introduced to the organization of catering for military personnel, told about the service of a special sapper group, service dogs that, together with dog handlers, perform combat missions and participate in the search for narcotic and psychotropic substances.
