The forum is discussing support for innovative crime prevention strategies, the formation of socially oriented criminal justice systems amid constant global change, the fight against organized crime and terrorism in all their manifestations, and improving the effectiveness of interaction and international cooperation.
“Transnational organized groups are actively using cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence tools, making their illegal schemes mobile and less dependent on borders. The internet has become a platform for cyber fraud, illegal drug trafficking, human trafficking and extremism. An effective response to these challenges requires joint action. At the same time, it is important to understand that the use of law enforcement topics by Western countries for political purposes undermines trust and the quality of cooperation,” Deputy Internal Affairs Minister - Head of the Criminal Police Gennady Kazakevich said.
He also emphasized that Belarus actively promotes international initiatives in these areas, in particular in combating human trafficking. Since 2005, when the president of Belarus raised the relevant issue at the UN Summit, a number of anti-trafficking resolutions have been adopted at the UN, the latest of which, put forward jointly with Kazakhstan, was adopted in June 2026. Belarus continues to actively participate in countering global threats, facilitating the exchange of information and strengthening international cooperation.
Gennady Kazakevich pointed to the need to boost law enforcement agencies’ ability to gather, process and analyze data to predict new challenges and cut off sources of criminal financing.
During the congress, the Belarusian delegation is scheduled to take part in a thematic event, Countering the Politicization of International Legal Cooperation, organized by Russian colleagues.
