Igor Sergeenko makes a working trip to the Vitebsk region

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly - authorized representative of the head of state in the Vitebsk region Igor Sergeenko, as part of a working trip to the Ushachi and Polotsk districts, monitored the progress of the harvesting campaign and work to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane.

According to the chairman of the Ushachi District Executive Committee Sergei Sadovsky, a strong hurricane passed through the region on July 1. In just 10 minutes, agricultural and civilian facilities, forests were significantly damaged. In close cooperation with the structures of the regional executive committee, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Forestry, the main problematic points were eliminated during the day - the blocking of roads, electricity and water supply was resumed. 5 thousand subscribers were disconnected from the power grid. Assistance was also provided by five teams of power engineers from Borisov. 170 trees were felled in settlements. Caring people helped the housing and communal services in cleaning them. 265 people applied to Belgosstrakh for assistance totaling about 130 thousand rubles, about 40 thousand rubles were allocated from the reserve fund of the district executive committee to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane at agricultural and housing and communal services.

The harvesting campaign in the Ushachi district is held back by frequent downpours. However, the harvest is ahead of last year's schedule by one and a half to two weeks. Sergey Sadovsky is confident that the harvest will be completed earlier than usual.

According to the general director of the Vitebsk State Forestry and Forestry Organization Yuri Lipsky, 258 hectares of forest were affected by the hurricane on July 14 in the northern region. The largest areas are in the Orsha, Ushachi and Tolochin districts. The consequences of the disaster will be completely eliminated by November 1. Wood is supplied to woodworking shops, shipped under contracts, and requests from the regional executive committee and district executive committees are also provided for the elimination of the consequences of the hurricane. In the fall, the laying of a new forest will begin in the liberated areas. The Vitebsk State Forestry and Forestry Association is ready to accept assistance in planting new plantings from all concerned citizens.

Representatives of the Vitebsk region help colleagues in the Gomel region, which was most affected by the hurricane. About 150 people and 40 harvesters work there. It is necessary to carry out clear sanitary felling on almost 1.6 thousand hectares.

Noting the clarity of actions to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane, Igor Sergeenko noted that due to changes in climatic conditions, we must be in constant readiness to quickly respond to the disaster. He stressed that the work to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane also showed the best human qualities - people went out to clear the rubble, helped each other.

Regarding the progress of the harvesting campaign, Igor Sergeenko stated that there are no serious comments on the organization of work. I would like the yield in the Vitebsk region to be higher.
