Implementation of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee was discussed in Vitebsk

The expansion of cooperation in various fields of activity was brought up at the first meeting of the joint working group on the implementation of the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee held in Vitebsk.

As the co-chair of the group from the Belarusian side, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Angelica Nikitina explained, cooperation between the two regions began two years ago. During this time, a number of cooperation documents have been concluded.

"At the last meeting, we considered different areas of social development - education, healthcare, sports, tourism, social protection of the population. There is a lot to learn from us, it is useful to adopt the experience of our Crimean colleagues. Particular attention was paid to economic development and logistics. It is quite complex, but we would like to develop both rail and road communications, which will facilitate the supply of our goods. It is important that we complement each other in terms of developing the industrial sector," said Angelica Nikitina.

They talked about closer cooperation within the framework of free economic zones. There are plans to develop cooperation between industrial sites in various industries, in particular, in mechanical engineering, petrochemistry, and light industry. As you know, in the Vitebsk region, the latter accounts for 25% of the entire industry of the country.

"We are ready to share all this with our friends. Now the issue of creating a joint business council that would coordinate the work of business and entrepreneurs is being worked out," said Angelica Nikitina.

Her Russian counterpart in the working group, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Crimea Georgy Muradov stressed that the main thing is the desire to work together.

"We came to Vitebsk with a large delegation to intensify our partnership in various fields. I am sure that the mechanism will work effectively for the benefit of people. In particular, our resort opportunities, the therapeutic Crimean climate will be used to a greater extent," Georgy Muradov said.

Following the meeting, the final protocol was signed.

Members of the delegation laid flowers at the monument in honor of Soviet soldiers-liberators, partisans and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region on Victory Square.
