Diagnostic checks are currently underway at the second power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (NPP), the Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The second unit of the Belarusian NPP was disconnected from the grid on 16 July by the personnel after an alarm indicated a deviation in the cooling system of the generator, specifically in the non-nuclear portion of the unit. The situation is routine and does not pose a safety risk.
The radiation levels in the area and at the plant remain normal, and power supply to consumers is unaffected.
At present, the necessary diagnostic measures are underway at the second power unit to assess and restore the operation of its electrical equipment.
