Dmitry Khoma heads Vitebsk Regional Commission for Presidential Elections in Belarus

At the first meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Commission for the Elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the leadership was elected. Members of the commission unanimously elected the head of the main education department of the regional executive committee Dmitry Khoma as the chairman. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and stressed the importance of the work of the commission.

"The Commission plays a key role in organizing and coordinating compliance with electoral legislation in the region," said Dmitry Khoma. "We must ensure the implementation of the electoral code and guarantee the principles of fair and equal voting for all participants in the process. Our goal is to create conditions under which every citizen of the Vitebsk region will be able to freely express their opinion and vote for their candidate.

During the meeting, traditional issues provided for by the Electoral Code were also considered, including the election of the deputy chairman and secretary of the commission. The working hours, duty schedule and work plan were approved, and other organizational issues were discussed. Chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin wished the members of the commission successful work and high-quality conduct of the election campaign in accordance with the law.



Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov, opening the meeting, said that the regional commission was formed on November 4 in the maximum possible composition - 13 people - at a joint meeting of the regional executive committee and the presidium of the regional Council of Deputies. The commission included three representatives of political parties, eight representatives of public associations, including two trade union activists, as well as one representative from labor collectives and one from citizens who submitted applications.





He stressed that the commission included highly qualified specialists with experience in previous election campaigns.

"I am sure that we will be able to hold elections at the highest organizational level. We have all the necessary resources, experience and knowledge for the successful implementation of this task," said Vyacheslav Durnov.

The working hours of the commission are as follows: on weekdays – from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (break – from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.), on Saturday – from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on the eve of election day – from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (break – from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.).
