Igor Sergeenko: "In every district of the Vitebsk region there are lighthouse farms that you need to look up to"
The grain growers of Vitebsk region made a worthy contribution to the republican loaf. This opinion was shared with journalists today, November 8, by Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko in Polotsk, where the holiday fair of village workers of the Vitebsk region "Dazhynki-2024" is taking place.
Igor Sergeenko noted that it was very pleasant to be in the atmosphere of this holiday, established on the initiative of the President, and also recalled the "Dazhynki" in Polotsk, which the ancient city met back in 2002:
— It's been 22 years. A lot has changed during this time. The agriculture of our country has gone far and transformed. Today we supply products to more than 100 countries around the world.
At the award ceremony for farmers, Igor Sergeenko focused the attention of all those gathered in the hall that a little earlier at the celebration of farmers of the Vitebsk region, the President had set difficult ambitious tasks, moreover, for the short term, for two or three years, which must be implemented:
— Yes, a good harvest has been obtained this year. Despite certain weather conditions, peculiarities of agriculture, difficulties of the financial plan, the grain growers of the Vitebsk region contributed to the republican loaf. Of course, they did not reach a million in total terms due to various reasons. It is necessary to add to the organization, technology of cultivation of the land, to determine the crops — what the Head of State spoke about today. But the most important thing is that today there are people here, in almost every district there are labor collectives that can be called lighthouses or schools of excellence. The agricultural combine "Yubileyny", "Larinovka" is well known in the Orsha district, the Vitebsk broiler poultry farm, "Mazolovogaz" in the Vitebsk district, JSC Novoselki—Luchai and other farms in the Postavsky district. The Dokshitsky district has tightened up this year. Dubrovensky traditionally holds leading positions. Thus, there is a certain base, there are these powerful farms that should transfer experience to others and concentrate others around themselves.
Addressing the participants of the event, Igor Sergeenko, on behalf of the deputy corps of the Republic of Belarus, including deputies elected from the Vitebsk region, cordially congratulated all the workers of the village of the Vitebsk region who contributed and are contributing to ensuring food security of the country, and also wished new successes to the Vitebsk region in the coming years.
