Many in the European Union have opted for the dangerous and hopeless logic of confrontation and sanctions against Belarus, Boris Batura, Head of the European Department at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Chizhik said at the 12th meeting of representatives of the twin cities of Belarus and Germany in Minsk on 18 November, BelTA has learned.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, I would like to welcome you to Minsk. Like two years ago, it is a great honor for me to address you, the people who make significant efforts to maintain and develop ties between the Belarusian and German peoples," Konstantin Chizhik stressed.
According to him, the last two years since the previous meeting have been difficult for cooperation. "It is a pity that many in the European Union, unfortunately including Germany, have opted for the dangerous and hopeless logic confrontation and sanctions pressure against Belarus," Konstantin Chizhik added.
